Opening with one of the most classic intro's ever recorded, this album pointed the way forward for the Priest after the limp-wristed and blatantly commercial 'Point of Entry'. Throughout their career Priest have frustrated endlessly, one minute dishing out classic, top quality metal, the next offering up weak trend chasing pap, but here JP hit on a winner and detailed the blueprints for the majestic 'Defenders of the Faith' album.

After the er, lacklustre 'Rocka Rolla' album, this is truly where Priest found their feet. Just look at the tracklist and hail the Priest, 'The Ripper', 'Victim of Changes' are just two of the songs that make this the second best Priest album of all time.

Remarkably even the last couplet of songs can't drag this album down from it's status as Metal of the Godliest order. The greatest Priest album ever, dripping with killer songs including Priest's finest single moment 'The Sentinel'!

JUDAS PRIEST - Jugulator (1997)

At the time I really liked this, but the production is so sterile that any grit this album may have once contained is all but lost. Ripper is a technically brilliant singer, but has no character, tragic really because this album has some great songs on it.
